2019 was the first year I’ve ever really done the Goodreads reading challenge properly and I really loved doing it! I remember deciding to do the 2019 reading challenge in December 2018 and I pretty much dropped everything after Christmas day to just read, which resulted in me finishing 2 books in January! It was really nice to get back into reading and I originally pledged to read 5 books as I thought I’d be far too busy with work and writing to read any more than that but I actually surprised myself and ended up reading over double what I originally pledged! Here’s an overview of my 2019 reading challenge…

I learned in 2019 that one of my favourite genres to read is non-fiction! I read 4 non-fiction books this year and found that I enjoyed learning about real-life stories much more than I enjoyed the fiction books I read. Luckily, I’ve got a few non-fiction books that I’ve yet to read, so 2020 looks a good year for reading!

2020 Pledge
This year I have decided to pledge 10 books. I may not get through them all but I said that last year about 5 so I’ll try to read around the same as last year if I can (give or take!) I won’t however, put any pressure on myself to read this year, just as and when I get chance is fine, any book I finish with my busy life is an achievement!
So, that’s the end of my 2019 reading challenge round-up! Are you doing the Goodreads Reading Challenge this year? If so, how many books are you pledging?
If you haven’t already, make your pledge now
Happy reading!
