Intentions For 2022 – My Goals For The New Year

2022 has the potential to be either the best or the worst year of my life. Okay, maybe that’s a little dramatic, however, this is a big year for me. All being well, I’m getting married this year. Let me just repeat that,

I’m getting MARRIED.

THIS YEAR.

Despite the state the world has been in, the last 3 years have flown by, just as I knew they would! All being well, 2022 could be the start of a new chapter, however, if the U.K. doesn’t get its act together with Coronavirus, there may be a slight possibility that we’d have to reschedule/postpone the wedding – hence the ‘worst year’ part. We’ve planned and waited so long for this, and with our Christmas plans cancelled in 2021, I really hope the stars align for our big day later this year.

As you may know from previous years, I don’t do resolutions. I do however set myself intentions for the year ahead. Here’s a quick reflection of my 2021 intentions and my new intentions for 2022…

Last Year’s Intentions

Keep Up With Fitness – we had initially planned to walk every single day of the year last year, however, due to weather conditions and general busyness with work, we didn’t quite manage every single day! 😂 We kept track of the majority of our walks on Strava (there were a few we forgot to log/track!) but my stats for 2021 are as follows

Make 100 Sales – Missed this one by a long shot to be honest, however, I really didn’t have much time to focus on my little side-hustle last year, and I doubt I’ll have much time this year either! That being said, I am hoping to review my product range at some point soon and start fresh taking the shop in a new direction! I managed to make 60 sales this year though so not all bad 😊

Theatre – I saw many shows last year, just not in the way I thought I would! I returned to a job in Theatre which meant I got to see lots of awesome shows whilst I was working! My favourite’s for 2021 include Chicago, Six and even working a Paloma Faith concert! The 2022 show diary is set to be a great line-up so I’m very excited to see which shows I get to see this year!

Photography – This didn’t happen as much as I’d have liked in 2021 but I feel like 2022 is the year for this!

Continue Saving – 2021 was a really great year for saving, we managed to pay off our wedding for a start! We’ve still a bit left to save for spending money and as a back-up just in case, so that will roll over into 2022!

Intentions for 2022

De-Clutter – We always like to start the year with a good de-clutter, and with this being a pretty big year for us, it’s a great way to start a fresh by throwing away stuff we no longer need!

Finalise Wedding Plans!/Continue Saving – One of the most crucial things to get done this year! We’re pretty much there on the planning front, just a few things left to buy, a few things left to book and a little more saving to do. Exciting times ahead!

Drink More Water – when I had an office job it was so much easier to stick to this, and man I felt so much better for it. I’m really going to try hard this year to increase my water intake as I know it will help both my mental and physical wellbeing in doing so.

Get Fit – Final year to lose a bit of weight for the wedding, and we need to hit it hard this year. There’s no more safety net, no more time to keep putting this on the back burner so we really have to go for it! I’m hoping to lose around a stone in the next 8 months before the wedding so fingers crossed I manage to achieve my goals. Lots of walking, lots of water and lots of good, healthy food in 2022!

Positive Mindset – I’ve worked really hard over the past 6 months to change my mindset and improve my anxiety! I’m really proud of how far I’ve come after everything we’ve been through in the last year. I can feel my mental health improving every single day, something which seemed impossible on the hardest of days. The thing that has helped the most is deciding to live in the moment and accept that things aren’t always going to be in my control. Everything happens for a reason, what will be, will be so there’s no point in worrying or stressing over the little things. Life is too short. I’m going to continue to be more positive this year.

Photography/Videography – Rolling this one over from last year, I really want to start building up my Photography portfolio a bit more as I’m interested in maybe considering Photography as a career option. Having done lots of research on photographers for my own wedding, some of the photos were really inspiring, I’d love to maybe capture someone else’s special day at some point in the future and I’m also really interested in learning how to shoot newborn photography too 🥰 On the videography front, I’m hoping to capture as much of this year as possible and build my content up on my youtube channel! (please subscribe!)

So there are my goals for 2022, they’re very similar to last years intentions, however, they all involve self-improvement so I’m happy to continue with anything that benefits my wellbeing! I know I probably say this every year but I have a really good feeling about this one, I feel like this is my year.

Do you have any goals/intentions/resolutions for 2022? Let me know in the comments!

Happy New Year!
